Raymond Wilson CULLEN 1925-2015

My father, Raymond Cullen (ex Pupil of EC and member of staff for 40 years - retired 1986) passed away on Sunday 11 October, aged 90.

My parents ran The Grange junior boarding house for 22 years until 1976.  My father first met my mother, Jeanne in 1947 when she was Headmaster's Secretary at EC and he joined as Woodwork Master. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage together until her passing earlier this year.

My father was always passionate about EC and his work at The Grange, in particular, was a huge source of pride for him. He and my mother had a profound influence on numerous pupils who were in their care, many of whom, in the early days, were sons of missionaries who wouldn't see their own parents for very long periods of time. My parents managed to create a true family feel to The Grange and cherished life-long friendships with many ex pupils.

Below is an announcement that appears in the Daily Telegraph today, which includes funeral arrangements:-
